New Year, New Studio, and a Whole Lot of Bubbles!
Happy New Year everyone!
Here we are - another turn around the sun, another year full of suds, scents and tiny soapy victories. I hope your holidays were merry, your baths were long, and your favourite bar of handmade soap lived its best life on the draining rack rather than in a puddle of its own making!
If you’ve been following my updates (or lack thereof - apologies!), you’ll know that the last couple of years at Lilly Pilly Soapery have been a bit of a whirlwind. Between the “real” job and the challenges of owner-building our dream home 200km away from the city, life has been anything but quiet. But I have some absolutely cracking news to kick off the year….
My dream of a soap studio has finally come true!
The big highlight of the past 12 months is my studio is finally finished, thanks to the tireless efforts of my ever-suffering husband!
Building it ourselves has been a journey, to say the least. There were moments when I thought I’d be making soap in my laundry forever, but seeing those walls go up and the work bench go in has been worth every drop of sweat. Having a dedicated space that houses my soapy dreams and soap shavings instead of mismatched boxes and a very confused cat is a dream come true.
It’s big, it’s bright, and most importantly, it’s ready for some serious soaping. I can already hear the stick blender calling my name!
Looking Ahead to 2026
With the studio build behind me, my goal for this year is simple: more time for the things that make my heart (and my bathwater) happy. I’m looking forward to smashing out loads of handmade soap in the new studio, experimenting with some new fragrances, and adding new markets to my schedule.
I’m also hoping to be a bit more present here on The Soap Box. Whether it’s debunking more "soap-free" myths or sharing the highs and lows of life in the Wheatbelt, I want to keep the conversation going.
Thank you all for sticking with me through the construction dust and the quiet spells. Your support means the world to a small-batch maker like me. Here’s to a year full of creativity, kindness, and - as always - plenty of lather.
Until next time… stay bubbly!
